OpenAPI Repair · ChatGPT plugin

Review your OpenAPI definition in ChatGPT.

Find selected AWS API Gateway REST compatibility issues. Diagnose first, inspect a guarded security-copy preview, and approve the exact candidate before export.

  • OpenAPI 3.0.0–3.0.4
  • JSON or YAML
  • 64 KiB MCP limit

The MCP plugin sends the definition you provide to a processing server. Remove secrets and use a minimal synthetic example whenever possible.

From a finding to an approved candidate

  1. Diagnose

Provide one complete definition and its JSON or YAML format. Review findings and source locations.

  2. Preview

Choose inherited-security copying when eligible. Inspect the actual changes and remaining findings.

  3. Approve and export

Approve that exact preview before requesting its candidate. Keep your original and verify the result before use.

The guarded repair copies root security only to directly declared operations without a security field. It preserves the root and explicit operation overrides, including [] and []. Other changes remain manual.

Know the limits before you use the result

  • Selected checks for AWS API Gateway REST APIs, not HTTP APIs or WebSocket APIs
  • No AWS connection, import, deployment, authorizer creation, or credential handling
  • No OpenAPI-version conversion or external-reference fetching
  • At most 64 KiB UTF-8, 5,000 values, 128 UTF-8 bytes per key, and 512 UTF-8 bytes per JSON Pointer; additional parser and response limits apply
  • YAML aliases, custom tags, multiple documents, duplicate keys, and some valid but complex inputs are rejected

Passing these checks does not guarantee validity, AWS import success, or correct production authorization. Review the full candidate and test it in your own non-production environment.
